1. The story takes place in Mississippi. I know this because in the story it says, " Stacey and Christopher-John, and me, attempting to keep the rusty Mississippi dust from touching them."
2. The story takes place in 1933. I know this because in the story it says, " Now its 1933 and papa went to Louisiana again."
3.The challenges the Logan kids face is racism and discrimination because they black. I know that because they were waiting for the school bus and when the school bus came, the bus driver splashed water and mud on them. And while the bus was riding away, the kids called them, " Nigger! Nigger! Mud Eater!"
4. I wouldn't retaliate like them. I would have stabbed the bus driver and ran. Leaving the racist bus driver to bleed like left me to be wet and dirty.
5.No because I looked Mississippi during 1933 and I didn' t see anything about racism or discrimination. But was indeed hot and dusty.
